Accommodation registration must be done in a timely manner, and information changes should not be delayed.
After checking into a hotel, homestay, or private residence, it is essential to complete the accommodation registration within 24 hours (hotels can handle it on your behalf; for private residences, the landlord needs to cooperate in registering at the police station). When there are changes to information such as the address or work unit on your residence permit, you must proactively report to the entry-exit management department within 7 days to avoid being warned or criticized for "failure to register/change information as required" (a high-frequency minor violation).
Actively cooperate with document inspection, do not refuse inspection or conceal information.
When law enforcement officers inspect your passport or residence documents, prepare the relevant documents in advance, actively cooperate with the verification, and do not refuse inspection or provide false information (you may face a fine of less than 2,000 yuan, which is a property-related penalty and will affect permanent residence review).
Plan ahead for the validity period of documents to avoid overstaying.
