On September 14th, HCC Group welcomed a special distinguished guest — His Excellency Dritan Abazovi?, a former European Prime Minister born after the 1985s. As the former Prime Minister of Montenegro, His Excellency Abazovi? has left a profound mark on the international political stage, and his rich political experience and outstanding leadership have been widely praised. During this visit to HCC Group, he was warmly received by Lady Athena Hung Chi Ching, and the two sides conducted in-depth exchanges and discussions on a number of fields.

His Excellency Dritan Abazovi?, Former Prime Minister of Montenegro

His Excellency Dritan Abazovi? was born in 1985 and holds a PhD in Political Economy. He is the first government head born after the 1985s in Europe. During his term in office, His Excellency Abazovi? demonstrated extraordinary economic governance capabilities: he led Montenegro to achieve its first government budget surplus since independence, making it one of the countries with the highest economic growth rates in Europe; he governed without borrowing a single euro in foreign debt, breaking the vicious cycle of reliance on loans; he drove tourism revenue to soar to 1.5 billion euros, a record high; and he launched the top-tier Kotor-Lov?en Cable Car tourism project, activating a new engine for cultural and tourism development.

Meanwhile, he personally served as the Chairman of the National Commission for Combating High-Level Corruption and launched the most thorough anti-corruption campaign in Montenegro’s history. He prosecuted gang-linked politicians, judges, prosecutors, and senior police officials, resumed cooperation with Europol, and carried out cross-border manhunts for fugitive corrupt officials. His efforts were recognized with a special certificate of commendation issued by the U.S. Congress, in acknowledgment of his groundbreaking contributions to eradicating organized crime.

In addition, he peacefully resolved the century-long dispute with the Serbian Orthodox Church through the Fundamental Agreement, avoiding social division and setting a model for regional religious reconciliation. Today, His Excellency Abazovi? remains active in the European Council on Foreign Relations, continuing to play an important role in international affairs.
